A recent article in the Archives of General Psychiatryreports that women who undergo an extremely stressful event during thefirst three months of pregnancy have an increased risk ofhaving children who develop schizophrenia.Researcher Ali S. Khashan of the University of Machester, England andcolleagues note that there is some consensus that a mother'spsychological state influences her unborn baby.
